Portale Restaurant is an upscale-casual Italian restaurant opening in Chelsea this fall by Alfred Portale the award-winning chef and best-selling cookbook author. We are searching for talented, hardworking, team and hospitality-oriented individuals who can help us create a warm and welcoming enviroment that serves thoughtful and delicous food and beverage offerings.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef to join our opening team. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role on our team with tremedous growth potential in the future.

Ideal Candidates Possess:

3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie, preferably in fine dining and with Italian Cuisine.

Highly developed culinary skills and hunger to learn.

Professional approach with strong leadership instincts.

Remain current and compliant with all HR policies.

DOH Food Protection certified.

Ensure DOL/Health Department compliance as it pertains to the operation.

Adhere to all company policies as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct.

Open availability: daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays. Available to open/close the restaurant as needed.

Bring daily positivity to the team while inspiring the team and setting the right example through your actions.

Ideally, You Also Have:

  • Culinary Degree/Certification or Hospitality Degree/Certification
