This is a 6 month contract located on site in Ledyard, CT.

Develops and maintains application programs using relational database technology and other programming languages, including, but not limited to Structured Query Language (SQL), Visual Basic, and Microsoft Access, to support the business needs.

Must have experience with SSIS, SSRS, Sql and .Net

experience working with healthcare claims is preferred

Performs data analyses of health care medical dental, vision, pharmacy claims and pharmacy practice data, and other related data based upon requirements elucidated from users written and verbal communication.

Identifies the need and feasibility for a development project, system upgrade/enhancement, or bug fix
-Meets with users to understand the functional aspects of proposed solutions
-Meets with developers to understand the technical aspects of proposed solutions
-Documents functional and system requirements
Analyzes, designs, and programs viable solutions to extremely complex business problems defined by user applications.
Supports system testing activities through all stages of the project life cycle.
-Works with user and developers.
Orchestrates the resolution of day-to-day operating questions generated by the user, such as, function usage, program option purposes, and how to locate the information requested by the user.
-Works with users to support their needs and derive new ideas and initiatives to improve the program.

Plans and manages projects within allocated resources.
Maintains a working relationship with software vendors and suppliers of integrated package solutions to ensure smooth system operations and customer relations.

Develops time estimates for project schedules.

Negotiates and manages customer relationships at the project level.

Assumes responsibility for the content of formal design reviews.

Provides timely and accurate progress information to project status reports.

Provides technical assistance to users and other developers when needed.

Complies with SDLC requirements appropriate to the assignment.

Develops cost analysis estimates.

Performs systems analysis and design activities.
Assists junior members of the Health Care Systems team by providing technical guidance, mentoring and support.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred; Minimum of 3 years in healthcare industry preferred.

Minimum of 3 years information technology experience in relational database management, design and programming.
