We are looking for a Head of Accounts Payable to oversee a small team in our New York office. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is detail oriented and focused on optimizing department processes. This individual must posses excellent organizational and communication skills.


  • Provide leadership and guidance to a small staff, currently up to 2 employees in accounts payable department
  • Support payables process for our Global business including Americas, APAC and EMEA
  • Suggest policies and procedures, identify and implement efficiencies, monitor processes, trouble-shoot issues, communicate with internal and external customers
  • Process weekly check and electronic payment runs utilizing reports to review for and prevent duplicate payments
  • Reconciliations related to accounts payable
  • Review and approve vendors set ups, maintain tax information, and flag payments for 1099 reporting
  • Work with the Accounting department to address vendor tax related matters
  • Prepare information for internal and external audits


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent In Accounting, Management, or Business, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
  • 5+ years experience in accounts payable unit within a medium to large organization, with at least 2 years supervisory experience
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel and Word, ability to work with and analyze or reconcile large amounts of data, and experience working ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, etc.
  • Ability to identify best practices and implement process improvements
  • Must be a dedicated professional and team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and handle each request with discretion, tact and diplomacy at all times. Patience, tolerance and resilience are key skills.
