Experienced employee benefits business development professional who is self-motivated, results oriented and has at least five years selling employee group benefits including short-term disability and paid family leave, through producer networks.

Qualified person will have established relationships with New Jersey producers and be open to expanding their territory within the North East. Candidate will not underwrite but must have a working knowledge of the underwriting process and is expected to work closely with the underwriting staff.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Underwriting in the execution of company s business development strategy to targeted distribution channels
  • Leverage existing relationships and develop new strategic partnerships
  • Collaborate in terms of products, processes and customer value proposition for new and existing customers
  • Help set strategic framework for the product portfolio by channel
  • Help ensure that premium, profitability and compliance objectives are achieved
  • Maintain up-to-date competitor information
  • Monitor and achieve sales results with the objective of achieving high penetration rate across target channels
  • Candidate must also be comfortable public speaking at events to educate producers and market on products.
  • Produce relevant metric and production reports for management
  • Attend key local and national industry conferences

  • 5 years experience in a business development role
  • Knowledge of employee benefit programs especially disability and paid family leave
  • Strong background in relationship management
  • Proven capability in managing needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Worked in a regulated insurance business
  • Strong negotiation and management skills
  • Good understanding of compliance and regulatory environment in the US (MLR states)
